바쁘게 일 한다고 진짜 일을 하고 있는 것은 아니다. 모든 노동의 목적은 생산 혹은 성취이며, 이 목적을 위해서는 땀도 필요하지만 정확한 예상, 시스템, 계획, 판단력, 정직한 의도도 필요하다. 일을 하는 것처럼 보인다고 정말로 일을 하는 것은 아니다.


Being busy does not always mean real work. The object of all work is production or accomplishment and to either of these ends there must be forethought, system, planning, intelligence, and honest purpose, as well as perspiration. Seeming to do is not doing.
